Personal Information

Antonio is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering at McGill University.  He is interested in the field of renewable energy, particularly solar energy, as well as biotechnology and biomimetics, for which there is increasing demand.

Project Description

In Summer 2015, Antonio worked under the supervision of Prof. C. Hoesli to determine a viable method of encapsulating nanoparticles and beta cells in alginate polymer beads for the treatment of type 1 diabetes.  He also worked on methods of bead localization in vitro using MRI technology.
