Amy Bolt

Amy completed her undergraduate degree in December 2016, majoring in Chemical Engineering and minoring in Management.  She worked under the supervision of Prof. C. Hoesli in Summer/Fall 2016.  Her project, entitled “Magnetic Resonance Imaging of Encapsulated Islets to Treat Diabetes,” focused on encapsulating insulin-producing pancreatic beta cells in an alginate polymer bead to avoid or eliminate the need for immunosuppression in islet transplants.
